What is Tae Kwon Do?
Tae Kwon Do literally means "the way of foot and hand." Tae Kwon Do emphasizes kicking techniques. About 70 to 80 percent of the techniques we throw are kicks, but also include numerous hand techniques. The basic idea is that the legs are longer and stronger than the arms so we can use the added reach and power. The variety of techniques, with hands, arms and feet, allows us to effectively defend ourselves from many distances. We also incorporate various influences from sytles such as Tactical Hapkido and Hosinsul.
At Combat Martial Arts we teach a style of Tae Kwon Do called Choong Sil Kwan. Choong Sil Kwan maeans constant and never ending improvement. We recognize that a true martial artist never stops learning. Choong Sil Kwon is a progressive style of Tae Kwon Do with practical self defense applications.
Our Tae Kwon Do program is affilliated witl the American Martial Arts Alliance.
